June 28, 2022

The dry spell has begun again, but the creators of the highly anticipated Outlander Season 7 are providing an important update. Fans will see new faces in the upcoming season as Izzy Meikle-Small and Joey Phillips join the show’s cast.

The two will join the Fraser family by taking on the roles of siblings Dr. Denzell and Rachel Hunter take over. So what will they bring to Outlander Season 7?

Readers of Diana Gabaldon’s series, on which the series is based, will know the Hunters as the two siblings who will eventually enter the lives of Claire (Caitriona Balfe), Jamie (Sam Heughan) and the rest of the Fraser family.

You will meet young Ian (John Bell) and William, who is badly injured and ill, eh TVLine reported. He needs immediate medical attention and luckily Denzell is a doctor.

Although the Hunter siblings are Quakers, Denzell is willing to support the cause of liberty and join the Revolutionary Army as a doctor. As in book seven, Echoes in the Bones, where Denzell and Hunter first appear, the latter will charm both William and Ian with her independent spirit and subtle beauty.

Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner, screenwriter and executive producer of the series, explained to deadline, that they are pleased to welcome the two to the growing family of the series. We can’t wait for fans to see these two amazing actors bring Rachel and Denzell to life, he said.

The series also cast Charles Vandervaart to play Jamie’s adult son, William Ransom TVFanatic reported. He is the ninth Earl of Ellesmere and is raised by his stepfather, Lord John Gray (David Berry).

He is one of the highly anticipated characters from the book to appear in the series. In the coming season he will be seen in Wilmington with a lot of patriotic zeal and wanting to join the British Army.

His goal is to put an end to the growing tensions in the American colonies. Roberts said everyone was happy to welcome Vandervaart to the series.

Outlander Season 7 will be shot throughout Scotland, where the Frasers and MacKenzies are attempting to build a homeland against the backdrop of the Revolutionary War. Alternatively, executive producer Maril Davis revealed that the new season will offer more adventure, time travel and emotional danger compared to its predecessors.

She also spoke about Vandervaart’s arrival on the series, saying that the actor’s charisma was evidently seen during the audition. So everyone is excited to see how he will do justice to William’s character.

Outlander Season 7 is expected to release later this year or early 2023.
