Created by Michael Waldron, the superhero action series “Loki” is one of the first entries in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and “Black Widow.” The story follows the eponymous character as he escapes with the Tesseract after the Battle of New York and is subsequently detained by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). He learns that it is a Variant, an anomaly that should not exist in the Sacred Timeline. While most IVA workers think that Loki needs to be erased from reality, an agent named Mobius disagrees and reveals to Loki that he intends to use it to find another Loki. Variant, more dangerous.

Like almost every other piece of content Marvel has released over the past decade, “Loki” has garnered positive responses from critics and fans alike. Season 1 of the web series recently ended. If you’re curious about when Season 2 will be released, we’ve got you covered.

Loki Season 2 Release Date

Season 1 of ‘Loki’ premiered on June 9, 2021 on Disney + and aired 6 episodes before ending on July 14, 2021. Each episode lasts from 42 to 54 minutes.

As for season 2, this is what we know. Fans got the first hint of a possible second season of “Loki” when actor Clark Gregg (who plays Phil Coulson) accidentally revealed in a May 2020 interview that the next series of “Loki” was between 10 and 12 episodes. . At that time, we already knew that season 1 would have 6 episodes, so we deduced that the rest of the episodes had to be part of the second season. In January 2021, Waldon signed a new contract with Marvel that would include the second season of Loki. The official confirmation took place in the post-credits scene of the season finale, in which a stamped message announces that “Loki will return in season 2.”

Filming for the first season began in January 2020. However, due to the COVID situation, production was halted for approximately six months between March and September 2020. Filming finally ended in December 2020. According to reports published in November 2020, season 2 of “Loki” is scheduled to begin filming in January 2022. If this is true, then production on season 2 will likely end much earlier, considering that life is already returning to normal in the United States due to an effective vaccination program, perhaps even in the summer of 2022. If that turns out to be the case, expect season 2 of “Loki” to launch in late 2022 or early 2023.

Loki Season 2 Cast: Who Can Be A Part Of It?

In season 1 of “Loki,” Tom Hiddleston plays the eponymous character. The cast also includes Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, a variant of Loki; Owen Wilson as veteran Mobius M. Mobius, VAT agent; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, TVA judge; Wunmi Mosaku as the TVA B-15 fighter; Sasha Lane as the TVA C-20 fighter; Jonathan Majors as The One Who Remains, the creator of TVA; Jack Veal as Kid Loki; Richard E. Grant as Classic Loki; and DeObia Oparei as Boastful Loki.

Tara Strong lends her voice to Miss Minutes, the mascot for TVA’s animated watch. Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the MCU, has an uncredited voiceover role as Throg in Episode 5. Jaimie Alexander, Sif from the MCU, makes an uncredited appearance in Episode 4. The cast members as Hiddleston and Mbatha-Raw perform multiple versions of their respective characters.

Grant may not return in season 2 because his character was killed, but “Loki” is a multiverse and time travel series, so nothing is set in stone. While the Majors character also dies, we now know that a variant of One Who Remains, called Kang the Conqueror, will appear in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and will also be played by Majors. Kang and other variations of The One Who Remains can potentially appear in the second season of Loki. The rest of the cast is likely to reprise their roles.

Loki season 2 plot: what is it?

In the season 1 finale, Sylvie kills the one that remains, freeing the timeline and exposing it to invasion by the most dangerous variants of the one that remains. Ravonna leaves TVA headquarters, presumably to complete the last task given to her by The One Left. Loki discovers that he is in an alternative version of the IVA, where the employees know that whoever remains is their boss.

In season 2 of “Loki,” Sylvie’s actions will likely have immediate and long-term consequences. Kang is arguably the next big antagonist in the MCU. Loki must find a way back to his own universe and may have to work with Mobius on the other TVA. During her journey, Ravonna will likely meet Kang or one of his variations, and something romantic might unfold. After all, they have been lovers in the comics. Mobius, from the main IVA universe, could make significant changes to his workplace with the help of the B-15 fighter. At some point, Loki and Sylvie could reunite, and it could turn out as violent and passionate as their recent separation. The fate of the C-20 fighter could also be revealed in season two.
