Light the Night Season 4: Renewed or Cancelled?

March 19, 2022

Light the Night is a Taiwanese crime drama series about two women who run a Japanese-themed nightclub in Taipei that caters to the needs of wealthy businessmen. The series is set in the 1980s and portrays the close relationship between the two women – Rose and Sue – to each other. Their past and love life are intertwined, causing some rifts between them.

Also known as the Blue Hour, the crime series may seem a little soapier and less fast-paced compared to other series in the genre, but the compelling crime thriller aspect makes up for it. Aside from the mostly positive reviews the series receives from critics, it has a strong fan base that is constantly growing. Since its original premiere on November 26, 2021, the crime drama has delivered three seasons. So if you’re looking for details about the possible Season 4, let’s share all the information we’ve gathered!

Light of the night season 4 release date

‘Light the Night’ Season 3 will air in full on March 18, 2022 Netflix released. The third season consists of eight episodes, each lasting 46-55 minutes.

As for round four of the crime series, here’s everything we know. Netflix has not yet made any official announcement regarding the renewal or cancellation of the series. It is known that the streaming giant usually gives at least a couple of months for the series to establish itself before analyzing its performance and making a decision on future episodes. A look at the ratings of previous episodes of Light the Night shows that the series is loved and appreciated by many viewers.

In February 2022, Ruby Lin (Rose) revealed that as long as they come up with a good storyline, preferably even better than the first three seasons, it’s possible for the series to return for a fourth season. She also added that if the team decides to do so, it would be a good idea to release season 4 at the same time as a film spinoff.

So fans have reason to stay optimistic and hopeful as all the signs point to an extension of the mystery series. So if Netflix announces the renewal of the series in the next few months, we can expect Season 4 of Light the Night to be released sometime in Q2 2023.

Light the Night Season 4 Cast: Who Could Be In?

The main character, Ruby Lin, plays Rose, who is the manager of the Hikari nightclub. If the series is commissioned again for the fourth round, she will likely resume her role. Cheryl Yang may continue to appear as Sue in flashbacks. Sue is Hikari’s owner and Rose’s best friend. Furthermore, due to the central role that Yo Yang (Pan Wen-cheng) plays in the series, we can assume that he will also appear in the possible fourth round.

Other cast members could also return if Light the Night gets the green light for Season 4. They include Derek Chang (He Yu-en), Esther Liu (Li Shu-hua AKA Hana), Puff Kuo (Wang Ai-lien AKA Aiko), Cherry Hsieh (Chi Man-ju AKA Ah-chi), and Nikki Hsin-ying Hsieh (Huang Pai-he AKA Yuri). Also, we can expect some new faces as new characters could be introduced in the potential fourth edition.

Light the Night Season 4 Plot: What can it be about?

Season 3 of Light the Night follows the investigation into Sue’s murder as authorities delve deeper into the case and uncover the truth. Several mysteries emerge as the season progresses, and we see the characters deal with the truth in their own unique ways. Being a crime novel, the themes of confession and investigation are pervasive in the narrative, while some characters also take a trip down memory lane. In the season finale, the truth finally comes out, and almost everyone is doing what they can to protect those they love.

If season 4 gets the green light, it could take a new turn following the events of the season 3 finale. In February 2022, Ruby Lin also stated that the writing team was interested in developing a much better storyline for the possible fourth season. Simply repeating another character’s death to keep the storyline going isn’t something they’d want to do.
