La Brea Season 2: Renewed or Canceled?

December 1, 2021

La Brea is an intriguing drama series centered around the Harris family, separated when a giant sinkhole emerges in what is now Los Angeles. Along with them there are many others whose lives are affected by the disaster. Interestingly, those who fall into the hole find themselves mysteriously in a primeval world thousands of years ago. And now they have to stick together if they want to survive in a world they hardly know about. The series, created by David Appelbaum, first aired in September 2021.

Although the sci-fi series didn’t get off to an impressive start, it turned out to be a surprise hit. While most agreed that the premise was interesting, some critics criticized the series for not being unique. Plus, the acting and special effects were considered good enough to keep fans interested, but the narrative of the early episodes apparently failed to convey the intrigue factor effectively. However, as the season progressed, the series gained more and more viewers and fans. Does that mean there will be a second season? Here’s what we know

La Brea season 2 release date

The first season of La Brea was released on September 28, 2021 NBC and will end on November 30, 2021. The first season has ten episodes, each around 43 minutes long.

As for the second part of the series, we have good news for you! On November 12, 2021, the series received an order for another round, weeks before the season 1 finale. Although it took some time to gain a foothold, the sci-fi drama cast its spell on viewers. It reportedly reached 47 million viewers across all platforms.

The production team reportedly began filming Season 1 in early May 2021, which was added to NBC’s fall 2021 schedule about four and a half months later. So if the team sticks to the same schedule, we can assume that La Brea Season 2 will arrive sometime in the third quarter of 2022. Additionally, series creator David Appelbaum appears interested in continuing the series over several seasons and pushing the boundaries of the narrative. At the special edition of the virtual Comic-Con on November 27, 2021, he already hinted at future seasons.

La Brea Season 2 Cast: Who Might Be There?

The upcoming edition will bring back the main characters in the series. This means that we will most likely see the following actors again: Natalie Zea (Eve Harris), Eoin Macken (Gavin Harris), Diesel La Torraca (Isaiah), Zyra Gorecki (Izzy Harris), Jack Martin (Josh Harris), Josh McKenzie (Lucas Hayes), and Veronica St. Clair (Riley Velez).

Others who could resume their roles include Nicholas Gonzalez (Levi Delgado), Jon Seda (Dr. Sam Velez), Chiké Okonkwo (Ty Coleman), Karina Logue (Marybeth Hill), Rohan Mirchandaney (Scott Israni), Ming-Zhu Hii (Dr. Rebecca Aldridge) and Virginie Laverdure (Dr. Sophia Nathan), among a few others. With the series having a solid sci-fi element to it, we don’t have to worry about not seeing the actors again even if their characters die on screen. There may also be some new cast members if new characters are introduced in Season 2.

La Brea Season 2 Plot: What Can It Be About?

In the first round of the series, mother and son are separated from father and daughter when a hole in the ground opens up on the grounds of La Brea Tar Pits and Wilshire Boulevard. When Eve and Josh plunge into the depths of the earth, Gavin and Izzy try their best to mobilize resources and bring them back. Towards the end of the season, the Harris family has yet another risky reunion opportunity: a portal. But Eve is ready to do whatever it takes. Elsewhere, Gavin, Izzy, and Dr. Nathan everything for one final rescue operation when it is reported that a final hole in the ground will open.

At the virtual Comic-Con Special Edition at the end of November 2021, Appelbaum revealed what season 2 could be about. He revealed: you [die Harris-Familie] will be separated in new and interesting ways. We’ll be placing the characters in season 2 in different worlds. He continued: But we’re also going to be keeping a lot of what we saw in Season 1. There will still be characters in the clearing trying to figure out how to survive down there. But one of the series’s goals for future seasons is to expand the series’s capabilities. All in all, it looks like the Harris family’s troubles are far from over!
