A royal expert believes that King Charles III. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could strip their royal titles if their upcoming Netflix docu-series proves damaging to the royal family. Will the revelations prompt His Majesty to unleash his ruthless side while the series is the subject of controversy ahead of its release?
The first episode of The Crown’s fifth season was controversial after former British Prime Minister John Major complained about the plot, in which he and King Charles discuss taking the throne. Will there be another controversy in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s docuseries?
Vanity Fair’s royal editor, Katie Nicholl, claimed that the monarch would not change his mind and summarily decided to strip the Sussexes, including their children, of their royal titles if they continued to make damaging revelations against the royal family in their docuseries would do.
She told GB News that the royal couple are known for boldly criticizing the institution and have unleashed some pretty deep blows in the past. However, their alleged sources claimed that if they continued like this, it could reveal the ruthless side of King Charles.
Nicholl went on to say that the King would never allow the family, the institution or any member of the royal family to disregard the Crown’s reputation. In fact, this might have something to do with his delayed decision to bestow royal titles on Archie and Lilibet.
I think the whole question of titles is up for discussion, she added. You have to earn this trust, this respect.
So if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to ruin the institution’s reputation, their child, and even themselves, may no longer wear royal titles.
Meanwhile, Netflix is reportedly so unsettled by the reactions to The Crown season 5 that it has decided to postpone the Duke and Duchess of Sussex docuseries until next year. According to reports, the series was supposed to be released in December, but that probably won’t happen anymore.
The controversy began when Major complained that in the show’s first episode, he and then-Prince Charles discussed his grievances about waiting for the throne. From there, the series hit the headlines, leading the streaming giant to believe they would be fools by releasing the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle docuseries in December after that setback.
So they decided to postpone the release. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are rumored to be cutting some scenes from their show over alleged statements that could also affect King Charles, Camilla, the Crown Prince, Prince William and Kate Middleton following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September.
