Jin and J-Hope from BTS support fans and show disappointment over overpriced merchandise

January 4, 2022

ARMY gets the support of Jin and J-Hope from BTS, who complained about the group’s high prices. HYBE Merch officially announces that a new merchandise set from the global hit makers will be released this month and the price has surprised many.

Given that BTS is one of the most famous K-pop stars today, ARMY still finds it unjustified that their merch has a sky-high price tag. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook personally design these products, such as pajama and pillow sets, and prices range from ₩ 69,000 to 119,000.

PinkVilla noticed fans getting upset about the inflated price. Similarly-styled pajamas can be had in the market for as little as $ 10 to $ 20, which is far from the price of the merch. Fortunately, they got the help of Jin, who was also surprised to see the consumer price.

In a post on WeVerse, the 29-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that he didn’t know the final price. Just like ARMY, it was surprised by the incredible price tag.

He even criticized the quality of the material used, saying he asked the team behind the merch to use a much better one. Unfortunately, he was still not satisfied with the end result.

In addition to Jin, J-Hope also expressed disappointment with the price of the merch. With their support, the fans couldn’t help but cheer for the two of them because they took their fans’ side.

However, HYBE Merch has not yet commented on this issue. Meanwhile, on December 31, the company officially announced that BTS has been developing its own line of merch for a year, as reported by Bandwagon.

The artist collection would be revealed gradually, beginning January 1st through January 24th. A calendar was also revealed with the dates of the merch previews, behind-the-scenes video, and release dates on Twitter, WeVerse, and VLive.

It all starts with Jin, who is launching its Good Day and Bad Day pillows on Tuesday, January 4th, priced at $ 64.10. He’ll also unveil his pajamas, which can be had for $ 110.55. These pillows and pajamas were featured in the last season of BTS In The Soop.

Next, on Thursday January 6th, RM will unveil its bungeo-ppang greyhound, inspired by the Korean street snack. This also includes a pair of ARMY jogger pants that he designed himself.

Other merch drop dates include V on January 11th, Suga on January 13th, Jimin on January 18th, J-Hope on January 20th and Jungkook on January 24th. This merch will be available in the WeVerse shop.
