Is Lisbon (Raquel Murillo) dying in Money Heist Season 5 Part 2?

December 4, 2021

Of all the characters in Money Heist, Raquel Murillo saw perhaps the most drastic change over the course of the seasons. She starts out as an inspector with the National Police Corps handling the Royal Mint robbery case. At the end of season 2, she leaves the police, finds the professor on the island of Palawan in the Philippines and starts a relationship with him. In season 3, after Rio is kidnapped, Raquel becomes an active member of the crew under the alias Lisbon. She is later captured and released, eventually ending up in the Bank of Spain. When Tokyo dies, Lisbon is not far from her. If you’re wondering if Lisbon will survive in Money Heist Season 5 Part 2, we have the solution for you. SPOILERS AHEAD.

Is Lisbon (Raquel Murillo) dying in Money Heist?

No, Lisbon doesn’t die in Money Heist Season 5 Part 2. The series’ final scene shows her leaving the country with others in a helicopter. Part 2 of the fifth season picks up where the first left off. She and the other members of the bank crew barely have time to mourn Tokyo when they discover that Sagasta and some members of his unit are still alive. While she and Palermo are negotiating their surrender, Rio shows up with a rocket launcher to transport the soldiers to the afterlife. Lisbon disarms him, however, and helps him calm down.

While the professor is busy correcting his own mistakes, Lisbon, with Palermo’s help, leads the bank crew. At first everything runs smoothly for them. The 90 tons of gold are melted down and then turned into gravel-like pieces before being transported through kilometers of pipes to the rainwater basin. But then the professor makes a grave mistake: he mistakenly mistook a rival team for the police and gave them the gold. When they finally discover what happened, the professor can only blame himself. He, Lisbon and Palermo find out quickly and correctly who is responsible – Raphael and Tatiana.

Lisbon reminds the professor that he likes to talk about the plan in bed. Berlin probably did the same and told Tatiana, his wife at the time, who told Raphael, Berlin’s son and her current lover. Shortly after they find out, a member of Sagasta’s unit disarmed any explosive devices placed at the entrances and allowed the military and police inside. All members of the bank’s crew are arrested, including Lisbon.

When the professor arrives, Tamayo tries everything to force him to reveal the hiding place of the gold. But nothing works, because even the professor doesn’t know at this point in time. After Tamayo agrees to the professor’s terms, it turns out that there is a part of the plan that not even Lisbon knew about. The professor is returning brass bars to the government instead of gold bars, and the government has no choice but to accept them, knowing that Spain avoided a financial crisis when the world saw the bars arrive in the bank.

As with the rest of the team, with the exception of Denver, Lisbon’s death is faked and she is given a forged passport. Before that, Sergio proposed to her, which she accepted. The series ends with them flying with their friends into their new life and into complete freedom.
