Television journalist Lesley Rene Stahl was born on December 16, 1941 in the United States. She began as a producer at CBS News in 1971, where she spent most of her career. She has reported for the CBS show 60 Minutes since 1991. She is known for her investigative news and television reporting and outstanding international coverage.

She has received numerous media awards for her work, including the 2003 Lifetime Achievement News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Reporting. Stahl served as the first female White House Correspondent at CBS News before joining 60 Minutes. It held this position under the governments of Jimmy CarterRonald Reagan and George HW Bush.
