How BTS’s’ Permission To Dance: On Stage Concert in LA rekindled the old controversy with BIGBANG?

November 29, 2021

The first evening of BTS ‘two-day concert in Los Angeles, entitled Permission to Dance: On Stage, ended on controversy. Many noted how during one particular gig the group seemed to address an old problem with BIGBANG and Gaon Music Awards with the group’s stage design.

Many see many similarities between BTS and BIGBANG, while others claim Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook are big fans of G-Dragon, TOP, Taeyang and Daesung. Either way, it’s no surprise that these two groups have often been pitted against each other.

Many believed that their most recent appearance brought back a major controversy from 2017 after the Butter hitmaker was accused of mimicking TOP’s set design and ideas for this year’s Gaon Music Awards.

Big Hit denied the allegation, but Gaon staff later admitted they copied the FANTASTIC BABY stage used by BTS, according to AllKpop. They later apologized for the incident.

BIGBANG didn’t seem to mind the problem because their members were silent about it. But not BTS.

They discussed the problem before and after six years; they used the same stage concept when they performed dope during their most recent concert in LA. The lyrics of the song also seemed to attack other idols who enjoyed life while praising themselves for working non-stop.

Many believed that BTS wanted to overshadow Gaon and everyone who accused them at the time of copying the stage concept of BIGBANG. ARMY even started reliving the past controversy and some even attacked G-Dragon, TOP, Taeyang and Daesung.

BTS is now the most famous K-pop group in the world. According to KBI Zoom, it has hit the radio stations, award shows, international music rankings, fashion and much more inside and outside the music scene.

Many therefore compare them to the leading K-pop group BIGBANG. In fact, they are even referred to as BIGBANG heirs.

That just shows the strength of BTS when it comes to making and performing music. Her songs have the perfect and strong rhythm paired with rap parts.

It’s also full of their personalities. These two boy groups simply show very different characters than other idols.

You have a clear division between the rapper and the vocal lines. Nobody from these groups has to take responsibility for the group alone. In fact, both BIGBANG and BTS members do not depend on others as they are good enough themselves.
