How a Realistic Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom Episode 2 Spoilers

In the first episode of the series, Kazuya’s grandfather gives him one last wisdom lesson on how to start a family before he dies. His parents died some time ago, which makes him truly alone in the world. Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Elfrieden, King Albert and his advisers consider what to do for the tribute that their kingdom must pay to the Empire of Great Chaos. Ultimately, they decide to summon a hero and send that person in lieu of tribute for the empire’s fight against demons.

Kazuya is in a library when the summoning takes place. When he learns why he was taken to this alternate world, he overcomes his initial surprise and blames the king and his advisers for his poor planning. Impressed by Kazuya’s innovative ideas on how to deal with the failed economy and food shortages, Albert realizes that Kazuya is in a better position to rule the kingdom and abdicates. Furthermore, he announces that his daughter, Liscia, will marry Kazuya.

News of Kazuya’s ascension to the throne reaches the three military leaders: Sea Serpent Excel Walter, Dragonewt Castor Vargas, and Beastman Georg Carmine. Meanwhile, Kazuya sells part of the national treasure to pay tribute. Liscia returns to the capital and meets Kazuya. After learning of his plans for the country, he can’t help but think that he really is a down-to-earth hero. In episode 2, Kazuya was able to call all the talented and intelligent people in the kingdom to come and show their talents. He is likely to choose some of them to serve under him, for the good of the kingdom.
