Spoilers for Dragon Maid Episode 6

In episode 5, when Elma and Tooru start arguing, Kobayashi points out that they argue every time they meet. When asked what their first meeting was like, Tooru explains that he visited a kingdom long ago where Elma was honored as a Priestess of the Sacred Seas due to her mysterious powers. However, Tooru immediately understood that he was manipulating the naive villagers using his abilities.

Although she helped them shed many conflicts, in her quest for power and comfort, Elma ended up unknowingly creating a society based on social class and disparities. This is why Tooru breaks her beautiful castle and challenges her to give up tasty food and comfort, as she cannot live with humans for eternity. Elma doesn’t appreciate their criticism and the two argue fiercely.

After that, Elma decides to return to the Harmony faction base and no longer mix with humans. Later in the episode, Tooru helps Ilulu find work at a candy store where he meets a schoolboy named Aida Taketo. He helps her get used to work and the two of them spend time together. Ilulu will tell you later that he likes it.

She explains that she wanted to work in baking because she loves children and that it was the only job that allowed her to be close to them. In Episode 6, Ilulu and Aida risk finding themselves in an embarrassing situation while working at the store. Kobayashi’s colleagues at the office might complain about the short lunch breaks and they might find a new place to eat.
