The third season of the Netflix romance series Emily in Paris begins with the conflicts between Emily Cooper and Alfie, who are kept away from their boyfriend by working two jobs. When Emily misses Alfie’s farewell party, Alfie finds this unacceptable and cuts off communication with her. Emily eventually finds out that Alfie has not returned to London but is staying in Paris as he has become the new CFO of Antoine Lambert’s perfume company, Maison Lavaux. In the second episode of the season, Emily sings a song to impress Alfie. We were so intrigued that we wanted to find out if Lily Collins really sang on the show. Here are our results!
Lily Collins’ song Emily in Paris Season 3
Lily Collins sang in the third season of Emily in Paris. Lily sang Dionne Warwick’s Alfie as Emily tries to win Alfie back by ending the argument between them. Lily was nervous about singing on the show since her co-star Ashley Park, who plays Emily’s best friend Mindy Chen, has a phenomenal voice. However, the actress was aware that she doesn’t have to sing as Emily the way Park sings as Mindy, a professional singer.

Emily and Lily are not Mindy and Ashley. We have to make sure there’s a huge difference because Emily won’t be trying to be Mindy. When she sings, she sings to get out of her comfort zone, Lily said ExtraTV about the meaning of her performance as Emily. I wanted to make sure I was very honest from the start about the fact that Lily was going to be as nervous as Emily. And I thought it was beautifully woven into the story, and Mindy says my character needs to surrender for Alfie, and there’s no better way than to do something completely unexpected, she added.
Also, singing in the romantic drama’s third season wasn’t the first time Lily sang for her character. The actress sang I Believe In Love (Mirror Mirror Mix) in the Julia Roberts-directed film Mirror Mirror, in which Lily plays Princess Snow White. One of the daughters of rock legend Phil Collins, Lily has always loved to sing. […] I’ve always loved singing, writing songs and experimenting in some way. I wouldn’t say my goal right now is to put out an album or anything, but it’s so much a part of me, Lily told in March 2012 The Hollywood Reporters.
Finally, Lily had also sung in the series, in which she plays the protagonist Emily and serves as one of the producers. The actress manages to emphasize her character’s innocence even while performing the song, which reinforces its importance in the show’s narrative.
