BTS Comeback Album: Fans Disappointed With Proof As Anthology Album, Accuse Hybe Of Using Group As Moneybag

May 6, 2022

Ever since BTS announced the release of their new album Proof at the end of the Permission to Dance concert in Las Vegas in April, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. However, when a new announcement revealed that their new album would only be an anthology album, the ARMYs were disappointed.

BTS recently released a new clip to announce the new logo for their upcoming album. The fans were very excited and expected a brand new album, but the opposite was true, eh AllKpop reported.

The Fahs were disappointed upon seeing the new album’s details, which revealed it would be an anthology album with only three new songs. They all thought it would be a full album as the guys haven’t released one since 2020.

In a thread The Qoo netizens shared their feelings about the news. One fan said that Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook should start their own agency and accused Hybe of seeing them as just moneybags.

Others said they’ve been waiting for a new album for two years, but they’ll only see a compilation of their best songs. Also in the last year they only released two new songs.

Another opined that today Hybe seems to focus on webtoons and games instead of promoting BTS more. Therefore, some fans asked the company to provide them with a full album, adding that they were disappointed once again.

Before BigHit Music released new details about Proof, a fan predicted three possible subunits using the colors of BTS members’ Instagram profile pictures. The first subgroup is said to be J-Hope and Jimin, the second is Suga and Jin, and the third is RM, Jungkook, and V, so Koreaboo.

To add even more fuel to the fire, Proof would include three new songs that could be sub-unit tracks. The photo card collection, on the other hand, appears to match the group’s profile photos. So is it just a coincidence or is this theory true?

Meanwhile, BigHit Music released a new teaser for BTS’ upcoming album on Thursday, May 5th, to give fans a glimpse of the new logo and to announce the official release date, as rappler reported. The album will be released on June 10th, just in time for the group’s ninth anniversary.

Also, an official statement was released on WeVerse stating that Proof will embody the story of BTS as they are about to start a new chapter. The album will contain three CDs and three new tracks reflecting the guys’ thoughts and ideas about the past, present and future. The album is available for pre-order now on WeVerse.
