BMF Season 2: Extended or canceled?

November 22, 2021

BMF, or Black Mafia Family, is a crime series created by Randy Huggins. Set in the 1980s, the series traces the rise of the Flenory brothers from southwest Detroit, who form one of the most powerful criminal families in the United States. Their unconditional loyalty to the family makes them successful, but it also becomes the determining factor that leads to their alienation.

the StarzSeries premiered in September 2021 and received an overwhelmingly positive response. Critics praised the series for its dark yet compassionate narrative style, inspired by the lives of Demetrius Big Meech Flenory and Terry Southwest T Flenory. The performances of the actors were also praised by critics and the audience. Of course, fans are eagerly waiting to find out if the show will return with a second edition. Well here is what we know!

BMF Season 2 release date

The first season of BMF was released on Starz on September 26, 2021 and will end on November 21, 2021. The first round of the series consists of eight episodes, each approximately 52 minutes long.

You will be excited to hear what we have to say about the second season of the series! On September 30, 2021, Starz announced that it had given the series the green light for a new round. The announcement came just days after the series premiered, which isn’t unexpected given the solid start.

The cast and team reportedly began filming the first season in January 2021, which premiered about eight months later. Since the crime series was extended ahead of schedule, the next season will likely be ready in time for the new broadcast season in 2022. So we can assume that BMF Season 2 will appear sometime in the third quarter of 2022.

That is not all! In an interview with Metro in November 2021, executive producer Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent announced several episodes of the series. He said it’s almost like a different city each season that we have to come to to tell a picture of the full story. Plus, the cable broadcaster has already ordered a 50 Cent documentary series, which just goes to show how much trust it has in the rapper, actor and producer who has become a major player for Starz.

BMF Season 2 Cast: Who could be there?

As the series revolves around the Flenory brothers, we can expect Demetrius Flenory Jr. aka Lil Meech and Da’Vinchi to resume their roles as Demetrius Flenory aka Big Meech and Terry Flenory aka Southwest T, respectively. Others likely to return in Season 2 are Russell Hornsby (Charles Flenory), Michole Briana White (Lucille Flenory), Eric Kofi-Abrefa (Lamar Fields), Ajiona Alexus (Kato), Myles Truitt (B-Mickie), and Steve Harris (Detective Bryant).

There were also some interesting actors in the first season who we might see again in the new round. These include Kash Doll (Monique), Wood Harris (Pat), Snoop Dogg (Pastor Swift), Lil ‘Zane (Sockie), La La Anthony (Markaisha Taylor), and a few others. In addition to the returning cast members, there will also be a few new faces to be seen as showrunner Randy Huggins hinted at many more cameos. Eminem appears in a cameo role as White Boy Rick in the first episode. Therefore, several well-known stars from the entertainment industry could appear briefly in Season 2.

BMF Season 2 Plot: What can it be about?

The first season is mostly about how Meech and Terry build their drug business. It throws their lives into chaos and poses a threat to them and the people who are close to them. Most importantly, it sets her on the path to collide with Lamar. Towards the end of the season, The 50 Boyz gang disband and the brothers Meech and Terry are no longer on the same side. While Meech wants to expand her drug business in Detroit, Terry wants to concentrate on his family and distance himself from the criminal machinations.

In season two, the storyline could explore other locations, as 50 Cent suggests: There’s so much you can really achieve…. she [die Flenory-Brüder] had stores in St. Louis, we have to go to Atlanta and we still have to go to LA. And Mexico to get the drugs. At the same time, Da’Vinchi (Terry) expressed an interest in exploring the dynamics between the two brothers in the future storyline. There will be more of everything as they get older and more mature, he said. It just means that the competition is going to get worse … more money, more problems, he added. So we can expect an even more intense season 2.
