Beast Tamer season 2: what to expect

December 27, 2022

Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau or Beast Tamer is an action harem fantasy series based on the Japanese light novel series of the same name by Suzu Miyama. The series revolves around Rein Shroud, a beast tamer who joins Arios Orlando’s popular faction, but is banished after just a few months for failing to prove his usefulness as a non-combat class. However, this proves to be a blessing as he meets a powerful feline spirit named Kanade and forms a contract with her that shows him that he is indeed an exceptional animal tamer.

With Kanade’s help, Rein embarks on a journey to make his mark in the world as he levels up and proves his skills as an adventurer. The action-packed series was released in the fall 2022 anime season and quickly garnered a sizable worldwide following. After Season 1 ended, fans quickly began speculating about a possible return of the series. If you’re curious too, then we’ve got something for you.

Beast Tamer Season 2 Release Date

‘Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau’ or ‘Beast Tamer’ Season 1 was released on October 2, 2022 and later ended on December 24, 2022. The anime consists of thirteen episodes with a running time of about thirteen each minutes. With Atsushi Nigorikawa as the main director, the anime stars voice actors Azumi Waki (Kanade), Rumi Ookubo (Tania), Shouya Chiba (Rein), Marika Kouno (Nina), Maria Sashide (Runa), among many others.

As for the second part of the anime, so far we know everything. EMT Squared has not yet officially commented on the future of the series. Interestingly, the first season of the series spans only two volumes of Suzu Miyama’s light novel series. Eight tankouban volumes of the series are already in circulation so far, so there’s more than enough raw material for two more seasons of the series.

Unfortunately, the release of the anime didn’t significantly boost sales of the light novels, and the series didn’t make the Oricon Top 20 list for October and November 2022. While the overall rating of the series on MyAnimeList is good, many viewers have complained about the repetitive storylines and unimaginative storytelling in their reviews on other platforms.

Based on the current information, it’s hard to say if the series can justify its renewal. Even if that is the case, it is unlikely that the series will return in 2023 or even 2024 as the decision to renew itself will take a few months. Assuming things go in the series’ favor and it gets the green light in the next few months, Beast Tamer Season 2 will most likely premiere in early 2025.

Beast Tamer Season 2 Plot: What can it be about?

In Season 2, on the advice of Guild Receptionist Natalie, Rein and his group go in search of a house to use as a base for their operations. Although they eventually find a suitable property, they soon learn that a ghost named Tina lives there. When Rein learns Tina’s unfortunate story and realizes that her life was wrongly taken by a dangerous killer, he vows to take revenge.

Then it turns out that the twisted killer is no ordinary man. As if Rein and his group’s problems weren’t enough, they learn of a demon attack on the village of Pagos. They immediately set out to investigate, accompanied by the powerful adventurer duo Ax and Cel. In another twist of the story, Kanade’s mother will ask her daughter to return to her family.
