The Netflix anime Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre has released its first PV and key artwork as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary project. The news was also confirmed in Akita Shoten’s recently released Weekly Shounen Champion issue # 32. The anime will be exclusive to Netflix and will be available worldwide from fall 2021.
The official website for the upcoming anime also launched a fan art contest for “Baki the Grappler” and sent a message to fans interested in the contest. We read that for Baki’s 30th anniversary project, they will carry out a project where fans will be able to appreciate their work from different perspectives with the concepts of their choice. What to expect at Baki Son Of Ogre?
The description of the upcoming anime, as it appeared on the official Baki franchise site, announces that Baki Hanma will be the third installment in its franchise. Baki will challenge his father Yujiro. Yujiro is the strongest creature on the planet and his father accepted the challenge to fight him. When he finally recognizes that Baki is a strong opponent, the long-awaited father-son fight will finally begin.
The original manga was serialized in Akitashoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine. The upcoming anime will also show us how Baki intends to face his father in a new fight. He will face many deadly opponents and eventually he will reach the level necessary to face his father.
But before facing his father, he chooses a perfect opponent to train. He will face Biscuit Olivia, better known as Unchained, whose strength rivals that of Yujiro. Unchained is currently being held at the Black Pentagon, where extremely dangerous criminals are located.
