Multiple reports have long claimed that Prince Charles is seeking a reorganization of the monarchy if he takes the throne and becomes king. So how will things change and who will stay and how in this modern realm?
It has long been suspected that Prince Charles will aim for a streamlined monarchy when he takes over as head of the royal family. But who will make it into his new squad remains to be seen.
In his appearance on the latest episode of the Royal Round-Up of the Daily Express Royal Correspondent Richard Palmer spoke about the Prince of Wales’ plan to transform the royal family and revealed who he thought would make the future cast.
Palmer told presenter Pandora Forsyth that future King Charles and Queen Camilla would lead the monarchy. Prince William and Kate Middleton would then be the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Your children, someday, but we’re a long way from that, he said. He went on to say that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have already been out and have some royal engagements with their parents.
He assumed that by the time George got into his mid to late teens, he would be doing his own things. However, since he would likely continue his education full-time, the public would not see much of him.
Palmer added that apart from Prince Charles, Camilla and the Cambridges, the jury doesn’t really know. He believes it depends in part on when the heir to the throne becomes king and family circumstances.
Since Prince Charles holds his sister, Princess Anne, in high esteem, she could also play a role under his reign. But it remains to be seen if that will happen as things remain uncertain.
Analyst Jonathan Sacerdoti said so Mirrorthat things will be very modern when Prince Charles ascends the throne. The focus will be on those who enjoy absolute respect.
The demand for responsibility and certain behavior will be in the foreground. As Princess Diana’s ex-husband wants to make his mark, Sacerdoti said there will be changes.
Sure, he may have a hard time responding to the recent controversies rocking the empire, from Prince Andrew’s scandal to Prince Harry’s attacks on the family. But when he finally takes the helm, Prince Charles could slim down the working royals at the heart of the family.
Royal expert Camilla Tominey added that the modern monarchy is about earning respect; it looks like he’s looking forward to being king now. This streamlined monarchy is supposed to ensure that everyone does their job and that there are no followers.
