All American Season 3 Episode 8 Recap
In the eighth episode of season 3 of “All American” titled “Canceled”, there is an argument between Spencer and Layla because what happened in Las Vegas did not stay in Las Vegas. He goes back to chase Spencer. His attempts to explain his actions are unsuccessful as Layla seems to have broken up with him. To vent, Spencer takes her brother to the park. There, he becomes embroiled in a dispute with two young men and later discovers that they are also students of Crenshaw.
Later, Spencer talks to Billy about the boys in the park, and Billy reveals that they can’t be included on the team because they don’t meet the principal’s new GPA criteria. Spencer tries to convince Principal Carter to drop the new rule, but Carter insists on sticking with it. At school, Spencer talks to one of the kids in the park, Jabari, who just got out of jail. Director Carter did not receive his old transcripts, rendering Jabari ineligible to join the team.
Meanwhile, Asher is still very withdrawn and pushes Vanessa. Later, Vanessa gets mad at Asher for telling her mother everything about last summer. She also reveals that she didn’t ask him out on a date, but just to hang out as friends. It seems that the friendship between Coop and Spencer cannot be saved, as Coop shows up at Spencer’s house to drop off a box of items. However, Grace convinces her to give it to Spencer in person.
At the cafe, Olivia tries to reason with Layla, but the conversation turns into a big argument. Spencer, Coop, and Kia record their back-to-school speeches. Jabari’s transcripts arrive and he asks to join the team. Carter tells Billy that he is the reason Billy was sent to residential school. In the final moments, Olivia confesses that there is more than friendship between her and Spencer. On the way home, Olivia crashes into a parked car and Spencer asks her to change places because she fears that she will not pass the field sobriety test.
