If you’ve always wondered if cross-border relationships are easy and viable, then TLC’s 90 Day Fiance is for you. Revolving around the lives of US citizens who are engaged to foreign nationals, the series gives us an authentic look into their lives and documents the days leading up to their wedding. The foreign partners come to the United States on a K-1 visa and must marry within 90 days or face deportation. By the way, 90 days is a short time for a cross-border couple to sort out their differences and settle down. However, with their futures at stake, it’s interesting to see how each couple approaches their issues in their own unique way.
Like its predecessors, 90 Day Fiance season 9 introduced seven different couples and offered a glimpse into their lives over several days. Now that the cameras are off, fans are curious to see how each couple is doing now. Well, let’s find out, shall we?
Where are Ariela and Biniyam now?
Interestingly, Ariela Danielle, an American, and her Ethiopian fiancé, Biniyam Shibre, were introduced in a previous season of 90 Day Fiance when they were busy making a living in Ethiopia, along with their son Aviel. However, they had to walk a rather difficult path together as their fights continued even after landing on US soil. Still, the couple put their differences aside and got married by the end of season 9.
Currently, Ariela and Biniyam have built a beautiful home in the United States and are enjoying life surrounded by family and friends. From the looks of it, they still live in their New Jersey apartment, although the couple enjoys traveling and often posts adorable pictures with their son on social media. It’s nice to see their blossoming love and we wish them the best in the years to come.
Where are Emily and Kobe now?
American Emily Beiberly and her Cameroonian fiancé Kobe Blaise met in a nightclub in the Chinese city of Xi’an. Although Emily didn’t plan to be in a long-term relationship, Kobe won her over with his charms and got her pregnant as well. When Kobe came to the United States, the two had a rocky road to navigate as Emily couldn’t trust her fiancé with the baby. Kobe, on the other hand, felt pushed out of his baby’s life and didn’t like Emily’s controlling nature.
They even had to cope with a surprise second pregnancy that threatened to ruin their relationship. Despite this, the couple persevered and got married near the end of Season 9. They currently appear to reside in Emily’s home state of Kansas and are the proud parents of two children. They also seem very happy together and often share adorable couple pictures on social media.
Where are Kara and Guillermo now?
One of the show’s most promising couples, American Kara Bass and her Venezuelan fiancé Guillermo Rojer, met when the former took a trip to the Dominican Republic. Though it was a fast-paced affair, cracks began to appear when Guillermo landed in the United States and began living with his fiancée. The couple got into arguments over the smallest of things, and Guillermo was very disappointed with Kara’s controlling and bossy behavior.
However, the two remained steadfast in their commitment to one another and finally tied the knot on July 23, 2021 in Albemarle County, Virginia. The two have since made a wonderful life in the United States and are on good terms with some of their 90 Day colleagues. And since Kara refers to her husband as her best friend, we can assume the two are dating for the long haul.
Where are Bilal and Shaeeda now?
Interestingly, US citizen Bilal Hazziez met his Trinidadian fiancée Shaeeda Sween through mutual friends on the internet. However, when he traveled to the foreign country to meet Shaeeda in person, the American fell in love and realized he had found the perfect match. Unfortunately, their path together was relatively rocky, as the two disagreed on many things. Shaeeda disliked Bilal’s bossy ways, while Bilal was determined not to have any more children, no matter what his fiancé wished for. The biggest obstacle in their relationship, however, was a prenuptial agreement that Bilal was keen to sign, against Shaeeda’s wishes.
However, fans will be happy to know that Bilal and Shaeeda have since ironed out their issues and tied the knot on December 18, 2021 in Lees Summit, Missouri. Additionally, Shaeeda mentioned that while she signed the prenup, she made sure to include some of her own clauses in it. So for now, the two are enjoying a happy married life in Kansas City, and Shaeeda appears to be quite close to Bilal’s children from his previous marriage.
Where are Jibri and Miona now?
Jibri Bell and his Serbian fiancé Miona met while Jibri was performing with his band at a Serbian club. It didn’t take long for the two to fall for each other, and the pair went on numerous vacations during which Jibri got on his knees and proposed to her. Unfortunately, from the start, Miona appeared to alienate Jibri from some of his friends, most notably his bandmate Daveed Dacho. Arriving in the United States, the Serbian national couldn’t come to terms with Jibri’s parents and seemed to absolutely loathe South Dakota. Interestingly, Miona asked Jibri for a beach wedding, which of course his family discouraged from marrying her.
However, Jibri eventually sided with Miona before anyone else and decided to marry her with his grandmother as maid of honor. Unfortunately, Miona’s parents, as well as Daveed, refused to attend the ceremony and did not appear in person. Interestingly, in a June 2020 interview with the Telegraph, Jibri referred to Miona as his wife when discussing how he fled to Serbia after the murder of George Floyd. Although we don’t know for sure if Miona accompanied him to Serbia, the two are currently enjoying a happy life in the United States and often share their memories together on social media.

Arguably the most mismatched couple of 90 Day Fiance Season 9, Yvette Arellano met Mohamed Abdelhamed online, and the two opened up about their shared love of fitness. Although the two got engaged when Yvette after Traveled to Egypt to meet Mohamed, the problems only arose when he traveled to the United States. In the US, Mohamed experienced culture shock and couldn’t accept the way Yvette lived her life. He constantly expected her to follow Muslim teachings and was quite upset when she reverted to her American way of life. Although Mohamed became friends with Yvette’s son Thara, he resented not being able to live with his mother and even considered finding a new sponsor to get his green card and leave the United States.
However, over time, Mohamed learned to respect Yvette’s way of life, while she began to respect Mohamed’s views. When life finally settled down, the couple married at the end of Season 9 and have made a wonderful life with Tharan in the United States. Where are Patrick and Thais now?
Patrick Mendes met his Brazilian fiancé, Thais Ramone, through a dating app during a trip to Brazil. It didn’t take long for the two to start dating, by the way, and during one of his many trips to Brazil, Patrick finally took a knee, which Thais was only too happy to accept. However, their relationship ran into troubled waters when Thais landed on American soil, as she failed to befriend Patrick’s brother John. John, on the other hand, was quite worried about the Brazilian nationals as he knew Thais were used to spying on Patrick and even had a GPS app installed on his phone. Also, John believed his brother could do better, leading to further animosity between the two. However, things took a drastic turn when Patrick learned that Thais had not informed her father about their upcoming wedding. Although Thais mentioned that her father despised Americans and would disapprove of the marriage, Patrick refused to marry her until she informed her father.
Not surprisingly, Thais’ father opposed the marriage and initially forbade her from marrying Patrick. But after a lot of back and forth, Thais finally got her father’s blessing and the two were able to tie the knot in a beautiful ceremony. The two have since settled in the United States and enjoy a happy married life with their family and friends. They also often upload adorable couple pictures and profess their love on social media, as in a May 2022 post in which Thais wrote: Patrick has been so amazing on this journey, I’m grateful to him for not giving up on me whenever I thought I wouldn’t make it anymore he said I’ll always come back for you.
