The 8-part Netflix reality series Pirate Gold of Adak Island takes viewers to the Alaskan island of the same name. In the series, Mayor Thom Spitler hires a group of experts with unique skills to search for pirate captain Gregory Dwargstof’s long-lost treasure. Along with the team of four, Thom explores the country hoping to find gold coins that could be worth more than $350 million.

In the show, the group uses their knowledge of geography and the subsurface to find buried treasure in a race against the inclement weather.
