Based on an exciting true story, Jailbreak Lovers is a drama thriller that follows the romantic affair between Toby and John. Toby seems to have the perfect life as she is married to the only man she has ever dated, is a regular church attendee and has never had any problems with the law. But that changes when she loses her job and starts a non-profit organization for abused and rescued dogs to rehabilitate them at a local prison. There she meets a convicted murderer named John, and that is how their romance begins. Together they hatch a plan to free John from prison.
Directed by Katie Boland, the Lifetime film explores several intriguing themes such as a forbidden romance, life in prison, a prison break and a couple in trouble with the law. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Out of Sight is a crime comedy based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Elmore Leonard. The story follows Jack Foley, a bank robber who, with the help of one of his friends, escapes from prison and kidnaps a US Marshal named Karen Sisco. Things soon go downhill as Jack and Karen find themselves drawn to each other. 4. Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Based on the 1982 novella Rita Hayworth and Redeeming the Shawshanks by Stephen King, Redeeming the Shawshanks is a prison drama directed by Frank Darabont and starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The story follows Andy Dufresne, who is jailed for the murder of his wife and lover despite desperately protesting his innocence. Fred Cavayé’s French thriller Anything For Her follows Julien Auclert and his wife Lisa as they lead a peaceful life with their son Oscar. But there is trouble in paradise when the police arrive and arrest Lisa as the prime suspect in a murder case. When Julien, after several years in prison, learns that Lisa is about to give up her life, he devises a clever but risky plan to get his wife out of prison. Reversing the roles, Anything For Her is also about a partner going to any lengths to break their loved one out of prison, even if it means risking their life, like in Jailbreak Lovers.

Based on the non-fiction book of the same name by J. Campbell Bruce, Escape from Alcatraz is a prison thriller directed by Don Siegel that chronicles the infamous 1962 inmate escape from the Alcatraz Island prison. The story follows Frank, a convict locked up in the most feared and secure prison in the world. Despite all the challenges, he decides to end his imprisonment and break out of the facility to experience a taste of freedom again.
