7. Crystal Triangle (1987)

Like Spriggan, Canaan features stunning animation and explosive action sequences. The titular protagonist of Canaan is a highly efficient fighter like Yu. She embarks on a vendetta after Alphard, a woman who loves her like an older sister, betrayed both her and her master, Siam. In Shanghai, Canaan reunites with her friend Maria Oosawa after rescuing her from masked assassins. They realize that they must work together if they are to thwart Alphard, who is also in town, against an elaborate plan.

‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ is the sprawling television anime that launched the multimedia franchise of the same name. The government believes a young boy’s psychic abilities are the cause and imprisons him. Thirty-one years later, a new city called Neo-Tokyo has sprung up on the spot where Toyo once lived. After coming into contact with an esper who escaped from the government facility, a young man named Tetsuo Shima suddenly develops similar abilities. Akira and Shriggan have some similar themes. The dynamics between the individual characters in the two projects are also quite similar.
1. Ghost in the Shell (1995)
Like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell marked the beginning of the franchise.
