In episode 4 of 1883, we will join James and his family traveling in the back of the trailer. The situation is ideal for James because he doesn’t want to endanger his family. Meanwhile, Shea and Thomas lead the caravan and they must face any problems that arise. The caravan is moving west and is expected to arrive in Brazos County, Texas. In their new environment, the tour group has to watch out for the bandits lurking in the shadows and watch out for their already scarce resources.
In the meantime, Elsa and Ennis will likely continue to flirt with each other, but the situation at camp may force them to reconsider their feelings. On the other hand, Shea might warm to Noemi and her children as he teaches them how to survive. The caravan could also be attacked by the men Shea stranded for stealing. Shea has also taken responsibility for overseeing the immigrants and it will be interesting to see how he deals with the conflicts within the group.
