Last Tuesday, Starz announced that filming for the time travel-themed drama series will wrap up in Scotland this week on social media. The American channel also revealed that the return of fiction is scheduled for early 2022.
Initially, the sixth season of Outlander was going to have twelve new episodes, but finally the series will only include eight. However, Part 7 will consist of sixteen episodes, which is very good news for fans of the series.
The main roles will be played by Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe as Jamie and Claire Fraser. Among the other cast members, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin will reprise their respective roles as Brianna and Roger MacKenzie, and John Bell will reprise young Ian.
Outlander season six will follow Claire and Jamie Fraser as they fight to protect the people they love, as they continue to go through different trials, each one more difficult than the next.
