New Amsterdam season 2 finale explained!
Iggy’s plot didn’t come to an easy conclusion either, though it was a much more awkward foray into bipartisan gun control. Iggy was tasked with determining whether the legal owner of a gun was sane enough to remain in possession of his gun after pointing it at his wife.
This man, Brendan, was kind of a conservative cliche and he blatantly accused Iggy of being a “hard-line liberal,” which he sure is, but that kind of simplistic description luckily doesn’t permeate the background of the story. Brendan proudly admitted that the gun gave him back the sense of power his divorce had taken away from him. The fact that he pointed the gun at his wife reminded him that he could still be “a man.”
He’s pathetic and crazy obviously, but that doesn’t technically stop him from legally owning a gun. Iggy, though he tried to go into detail, had to admit that Brendan was not an immediate danger to himself or others. He recovered his gun and, in a final twist, his wife revealed that she had bought one to defend herself against him. The cycle continues.
All the lightness of the New Amsterdam season 2 finale came from Vijay and the unwanted sexual attention from a patient’s wife. When he insisted that she was cheating on him, no one seemed to think it was likely. “Matter of Seconds” even recoiled as it finally revealed that he had a tumor pressing down on the pleasure center of his brain.
But it wasn’t all that dark for Vijay, as a chance encounter with Karen Brantley in the elevator led to a number swap and a drink offer. Maybe Vijay is still sexually viable after all. Although the New Amsterdam season 2 finale It wasn’t the grand finale that people expected and it left a lot of stories hanging, it seems that the show made the most of the impossible circumstances.
