Warner Bros. frustrated with JJ Abrams’ approach to DC content

When an entertainment company experiences a leadership change, new executives invariably act first to put their mark on it by scrapping any deals and projects that the previous management greenlit. The CEO of New Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, is no different, and according to Deadline, Under the microscope is a multi-million dollar deal with JJ Abrams’ production company Bad Robot, which Warners says is too slow to produce shows that are too expensive for HBO Max.

Zaslav is currently taking a closer look Demimonde, a series with an estimated budget of over $200 million that has been in pre-production for four years, but Warners management has also expressed frustration with Bad Robot’s inability to kick off with any of the series based on the DC Comics properties they claimed for.
