In a time of national tragedy and international war, when people seem more politically divided than ever, there is a set of objective truths that everyone can still agree on:
- That Morbius movie with Jared Leto was a stench.
- Jared Leto seems hard to work with, so it’s fun to watch him go through all the stages, including the horribly awkward press tour Sony threw for him.
- It’s really fun to poke fun at every aspect of this movie.
- The fact that, despite Morbius being glued by critics, it still made enough money to warrant a sequel, that’s great, even if the world’s most handsome actor, Matt Smith, was as confused by the film as the director and fans l were, didn’t want to do it in the first place, and preemptively refuses to show up for a sequel.
- Director Daniel Espinosa seems like a nice guy in serious denial.
- It doesn’t seem like Sony executives know what they’re doing, or maybe even haven’t read a comic or watched a comic book movie, and just hope that sticking a successful title on a movie poster will rake in the money at the MCU level. That being said, a standalone Aunt May movie sounds Morbius-bad level and we hope they go through with it.
- This Leto/Holland crossing does not occur.
- It’s fun to make memes about the whole thing.
It was the final point that saved Twitter from being completely sucked into a black hole of negativity, and user creativity kept hope alive for the app that drove a stake through Elon Musk’s heart. That is, until now, because all the fun is over once the brands get involved.
