Halloween Ends review – an absolute disgrace to Michael Myer’s legacy

October 15, 2022

This Peacock Halloween Ends horror movie review contains no spoilers.

Will evil finally die? This is the main question to which Halloween ends. We have seen the return of Michael Myers in 2018 with an incredible film, Halloweenfollowed by one of the franchise’s worst films, halloween kills. So shall it be franchise go out with a bang? Or will it continue to disappoint? Let’s dive into it.

I’ve always thought Michael Myers was one of the most complex characters to master, and most of the time you either do it or it’s terrible, and we’ve seen it twice in a row. First off, I enjoyed the first Rob Zombie Halloween, but he followed it up with a disaster movie. Then writer/director David Gordon Green did the same with the final two installments. I want to love halloween killsbut aside from the kills, every time i watch it i hate it more and more.

Halloween ends begins with a bang when we see a child come babysit another child, which ends up killing him in one of the craziest turns of events to open a movie we’ve seen in recent times. While that gave me hope, I was quickly disappointed because they went that route with this kid who felt so out of place and lackluster. Throughout this franchise, we see these writers start taking risks, and it fails.

Speaking of chess, the pacing of this film is something that blows my mind. The entire first hour of this film is completely unassailable. They build this character of Corey for over three-quarters of this movie, and I don’t give a damn about him. I think rohan campbell rivals Anthony Michael Hall as one of the worst performances in this entire franchise.

i’m so happy for Jamie Lee Curtis because she brought good throughout this trilogy, but Laurie Strode deserves much better than what the writers gave her. You built up the whole last movie with very little of Laurie in the movie, saying she was looking for that revenge in Halloween ends. She’s in this movie for about ten minutes throughout the first hour and a half. I literally don’t understand the writing of this film.

Also, about the terrible writing, as I mentioned, in halloween kills, you build this battle between Laurie and Michael, and MICHAEL MYERS IS IN THE FILM LESS THAN Laurie. How the hell did you goof that? Not only that, the whole build of the battle in the movie ended in a HORRID END. I don’t understand what they were trying to do with this script, but it’s literally one of the worst scripts to come out this year.

One of the only good things about halloween kills was that the killings were good. However, another disappointing factor in Halloween ends was the kills were dull. It’s one of the things you look forward to the most when watching Michael Myers movies is how creatively he will kill people. Again, I’m at a loss for words with this whole movie.

Globally, Halloween ends is another failed attempt to revive what the 2018 film brought to the table. The lackluster story structure followed by poor character development brings one of the worst installments of this legendary franchise. I hope we close this chapter on Myers for good.
