The latest trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania turned out to be enlightening in every way. Not only did this unveil our first look at the MCU’s MODOK (for better or worse), but it also gave us our best indication yet of what the storyline for the third sequel will be, as Scott Lang from Paul Rudd takes on the franchise’s new big bad, Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror. Unfortunately, for the amazing shrinking hero, it looks like he’s about to repeat one of his fellow Avengers’ biggest mistake, but with potentially even more disastrous results.
The trailer in question revealed that Kang will present Scott with a deal he can’t refuse – he can restructure the timeline so Scott never misses his daughter Cassie growing up, and all he has to do in return is to retrieve a powerful Macguffin from the depths of the Quantum Realm that will undoubtedly allow the multiversal maniac to dominate reality. Despite the enormous dangers involved, it seems Scott accepts the deal. Which is only reminiscent of an equally reckless move by Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Coming Home.
