Who is behind the VAT?

Episode 5 continues to support the theory that Kang the Conqueror is behind the creation of TVA. First of all, Alioth has a history with Kang in the comics. The first to break free of time, Alioth the Usurper forged a time empire much larger than Kang’s and nearly destroyed his in no time.

It would be quite ironic if the MCU adapted the creature as a form of temporary protection for Kangs. That would be likely though, it wouldn’t be the first time the MCU has adapted the comics to its advantage. Also, Ravonna Renslayer herself tries to protect this individual.

Now, since we already know that the couple are in love in the comics, it wouldn’t be too hard to believe that this is just the beginning of their on-screen partnership as he tries to stop Sylvie from stopping him. Other theories lead us to believe that a Loki could have taken over TVA and fooled Alioth, however that would be disappointing for the rest of the MCU. Finally, as in the comics, a powerful entity known as “The one that remainsIt could lead the TVA, but ties to phase 4 would also be more restricted.
