In episode 10, Gugu and Fushi confront the Nokker together. When the Nokker begins to steal Fushi’s identities, the latter begs Gugu to flee. The latter tries to use the alcohol contained in his stomach to burn the aggressor but realizes that he has not a drop left. He runs to the brewery to get more alcohol and discovers that Rean and his family are there. Pioran instantly realizes what happened and convinces the brewer to do what Gugu says. The boy returns to the forest and burns the Nokker, thus saving Fushi, who Gugu discovers has been turned to stone.
The doorman then visits Fushi and asks him to leave the premises. The Nokkers, he warns, will continue to hunt Fushi, and the only way he can fight them is by expanding his knowledge. Fushi refuses, saying that he can learn things if he stands still. So there is a four year time jump. Gugu became incredibly strong during this time, while Fushi learned to cook and sew. In episode 11, Gugu’s brother Shin could return to his life and make some changes that will affect both Gugu and Rean.
