In Episode 16, the Demon King confronts Meliodas and Elizabeth using the physical form of Zeldris as a ship. Apparently he takes Elizabeth hostage and taunts Meliodas for taking her with him. Elizabeth laughs and tells the Demon King that she is there to help Meliodas defeat him and casts Manipulate and Burst. She causes an explosion that ends up wounding the Demon King. Meanwhile, the rest of the Sins, except for Escanor, fight Indura. This generates thousands of hatchlings that will soon spread throughout Britannia. Ban uses sacred treasures to destroy almost all of them. The only surviving offspring head to Liones, where the Holy Knights prove ineffective against her. Escanor arrives and protects them. It is then that Maël descends to Earth and destroys the offspring. At Escanor’s request, Maël offers him the sun for the last time.
While fighting his father, Meliodas tries to join his brother. The Demon King transforms into a young warrior version of himself. The episode ends when all the Sin except Escanor arrive to help Meliodas. In episode 17, Meliodas was able to travel inside the Demon King’s soul to find his brother. Escanor will likely join the Sins in their final fight against the Demon King.
