Rio says goodbye to Latifa’s village after helping them defeat the bandits who wanted to destroy the city. In the Holy Era 998, the fall of Rio comes to another city and he realizes that two weeks have passed since he arrived in the Yagumo region. But he has no idea about his mother and father and realizes that they all have black hair in this town.
The villagers wonder who this guy is, and Rio confronts two girls and asks them to show them the way to the village chief. Rio tells the girls that he is a traveler looking for someone. The girl replies that her grandmother is the head of the village and tells Sayo to follow them. Ruri, Sayo, and Rio arrive at the house, and Ruri calls her grandmother and tells her that they have a visitor. The lady tells Rio that she is Yuba and asks what is he doing here. Rio tells Yuba that her parents lived in this town fifteen years ago.
Yuba asks Rio to tell her his name, and Rio replies that they are Zen and Ayame. Yuba realizes that these names are familiar to her and asks Rio to explain his story to her. She orders Sayo and Ruri to leave the room as it is a personal matter. Ruri complains that things were getting exciting. The two leave the room and Rio says that his parents were born in the Yagumo area. But his father died before he was old enough to know him and live in peace with his mother. Rio also reveals that his mother died when he was five years old, and coming to the Yagumo area was something that he and his mother had promised to do. Yuba replies that she knew them and that Rio looks like her parents. Rio asks about his parents and Yuba reveals to him Zen’s mother, Rio’s grandmother.
Rio is surprised to meet his grandmother and father; Zen was born in this house. Yuba is happy that Rio has come and they have graves for Zen and Ayame. Later, at sunset, they both go to the cemetery and Rio respects his parents’ grave. Rio is happy to be reunited with his family even though his parents are no longer there. Yuba comments that Rio’s parents are secretly leaving this country for specific reasons.
Rio wonders why, and Yuba replies that she can’t tell him now, but the time will come and she will talk to him. Yuba asks him if he wants to stay in the village, until the time comes. Rio wonders if it is possible and Yuba reminds him that he is her grandson. Yuba adds that all her parents are dead and that she only lives with Ruri, who is the daughter of Zen’s older brother. Ruri is Rio’s cousin, and she is fifteen years old, Rio realizes that she is a year older than him. . Rio then punishes the guy who wanted to impose himself on Ruri.
