Despite hoping to go ahead and release episodes on a weekly basis, it looks like Rick and Morty season 5 is taking a hiatus for episodes 9 and 10. But here’s the thing, they are both bonding. Thus, the fifth season of the series has ended. Either way, the upcoming finale promises a big downfall looming among our titular characters. So a definitive conclusion has yet to be reached.
Recently on the show, for the first time, Rick was alone. He decides to bring an old friend back to life to help himself. For that, he was ready to go all the way. Even to enter a brain full of memories that can kill him and his friend here. But he finally succeeded, but those memories played their part. Which put an end to their friendship over the years. But Rick learned a lesson, as did his younger versions involved in these memories. Let’s see what happened.
Rick and Morty Season 5 Episode 8 Recap
Season 5 of Rick and Morty opened with the whole family setting off for a cruise. With the exception of Rick, who was left home alone. Although Morty asks him to reconsider his decision, Rick feels he has more important things to do. This includes bringing an old best friend back to life in the form of a Bird Person. A man with whom Rick fought many battles. After many solutions failed to save Bird Person, Rick considers entering his mind and memories to get him back. Despite all the risks involved.
Upon entering the memories, Rick sees different versions of him and his best friend. A 35-year-old Rick partying with Bird Person, Rick teaming up for battle, and more. Even 35-year-old Rick confronts Rick and realizes the reality of the situation. Although the original Rick wouldn’t want to do it, young Rick signs up to help. Rick is getting close to a series of versions of Bird Person, who begs to escape. Sometimes insect-like enemies attack him and interrupt his mission.
While Rick and Young Rick are in trouble, Rick’s garage tries to recruit help in the real world. After fighting the insect army, then see another Young Rick team up with Young Man Bird. Rick finally meets someone who can understand him. Rick, in turn, reveals to Birdman that he has a child of his own. This encourages Bird Person to join Rick and run away from the insect army.
So in turn, by defeating the army of running insects and young Rick sacrificing himself in memory, the Bird person here comes to life. The problem arises when Bird Person asks Rick about the fact that he kept his son a secret. This leads Bird Person to walk despite all the troubles. The episode ends with Rick returning to help his younger version, who initially sacrificed himself in the episode.
