My Next Life as a Villain Season 2 Episode 5 Spoilers

In episode 4, after finding out that Rufus is behind everything, Katarina thinks she can’t sleep. But when Rufus enters her room, he finds her asleep and wonders if she has nerves of steel. He wakes her up and reveals that his master sent him to make sure Gerald and Ian are removed from the property so Jeffrey can become the next king. He kidnapped Katarina to put the hat on Selena.

Katarina clearly sees Rufus’s actions and comes to believe that he is ultimately a good person. She asks him to join her for tea, and Rufus, very surprised, agrees. They discuss Katarina’s secret visits to the city center and Rufus’ past. He tells her that he was born in the suburbs of a foreign country and that he was kidnapped by slave traders. Its current owner found it later. Katarina suddenly stands up and claims that she finds her inherent optimism admirable despite the adversities she has encountered, which again surprises Rufus. When Katarina observes that Rufus’ eyes remind her of a clear sky, she remembers receiving the same compliment from a rich but kind man when he was still living in the slums.

Rufus is delighted with Katarina’s kindness and her ability to see beyond class and economic divisions. Later that night, he hugs her and lays her down on the bed. Then he gives her a hickey. Dense as she is, Katarina thinks she is trying to do black magic with her and then says that an insect bit her on the neck. Finally, all her fans save her. After hearing how daring Rufus has been around Katarina, Gerald quickly lets go of his slow approach to Katarina and kisses her, causing everyone in the room to scream in surprise.

In episode 5, the true identity of Lana Smith was revealed. Now that Gerald has kissed Katarina, the status quo has changed and a love war could begin between all of his fans. Meanwhile, another member of the Claes family could go missing, prompting Katarina to search for him.
