Megalo Box Season 2 Episode 4 Spoilers
In episode 3, Joe begins training with Chief, but soon has hallucinations in which Nanbu, his former trainer, taunts him. In a flashback scene, Nanbu’s death is shown. Sachio, who was also present, asks Joe where he was all this time before declaring that he will never forgive him. Now Joe is going through a terrible episode of withdrawal.
Meanwhile, Mio continues to engage with local criminals, despite her blatant racism towards immigrants. After winning two consecutive fights, Chief provokes the ire of Hikawa, the promoter and local mobster. Hikawa sends Tatsu and Mio’s friends to set fire to the immigrants’ houses. Mio sees them but cannot stop Tatsu before he throws a Molotov cocktail. When the Chief’s house burns down, he runs in to retrieve his belongings, especially those related to his son. The episode ends with a bang, leaving Chief’s fate in doubt.
In episode 4, Joe may have to fight in the boss’s place to protect the community. Mio could finally start to change for the better. Demons from Joe’s past could still haunt him, especially in his latest exchange with Sachio. Hikawa might try to force Joe to fight for him in the future.
