Jujutsu Kaisen 149: Release date and time confirmed

May 25, 2021

Chapter 149 of the jujutsu kaisen manga is close to its official premiere, and here is everything we know about the chapter’s release schedule.

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular Japanese manga today. Millions of fans love following the journey of Yuji Itadori and his fellow magicians. And that is why, in April 2021, the manga managed to sell more than 45 million copies.

The first season of the anime adaptation has come to an end, but manga readers still have a lot to celebrate.

Every week we get a new chapter of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, and now everyone is eager to read chapter 149.

As of this writing, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 149 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, May 23, 2021.

You can read the new chapter on Viz Media and Manga Plus. And interestingly, both platforms allow everyone to read the first three and last three chapters (the most recent ones) for free. However, you will need to purchase the Shonen Jump subscription on Viz to unlock the middle chapters.

Please note that Viz Media has confirmed the release date of the chapter on its website, but it is still subject to change. Either way, we will update this post if there is any delay in the premiere of the chapter.

Based on the manga’s regular premiere schedule, the new chapter will be available to read at midnight JST (Japan Standard Time). However, international fans will receive the English translation a few hours later.

Either way, if the timeline above is still correct, you can expect the English translation of Chapter 149 to come out in the following moments:

Pacific Time: 10:00 am PT
Central Time: 12:00 CT
Eastern Time: 1:00 pm ET
English Time: 6:00 PM BT

In Chapter 148, we witnessed an intense fight between Maki and her father. At first, Maki gains the upper hand in the fight, but her father delivers a powerful blow to his daughter with a broken sword.

It would be interesting to see who wins this battle in the next chapter. So don’t miss out when May 23 rolls around.
