Drugstore from another world is a parody of Slow Life of a Pharmacist, a series of Japanese novels based on the everyday life of Kennoji and illustrated by Matsuuni. From 2016 to 2020, it was available online on the Shsetsuka ni Nar website. Later, Hifumi Schob bought it and has published six volumes since April 2018 under his Brave Novel brand. As of December 2018, a manga adaptation based on the works of Eri Haruno was available online on Takeshobo’s Comic Gamma Plus website, and has been compiled into five volumes. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the light novel and manga in North America. EMT Squared will release an adaptation of the animated television series in July 2021.
