After months of speculation and waiting, Tokyo Ghoul’s Sui Ishida is finally back with a new Choujin X manga. The first chapter of the series was released on May 10 with an immediate English premiere by Mangaplus and ShonenJump.
Ishida’s artwork is as beautiful as ever, with its distinctive shadows and symbolic visuals scattered throughout the chapter. Like his previous works, Choujin X takes place in a world where humans coexist with superhuman creatures called “Choujin”. The two protagonists Tokio and Azuma find themselves in a desperate situation where they both decide to take the Choujin serum and Tokio ends up transforming into a Kaneki kakuja-like beast with the characteristics of a vulture.
Since the premiere of the first chapter, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next episode, but its premiere schedule and format has left many people in awe. Today I will try to discuss Choujin X chapter 2 and its release date, spoilers, raws, and other important details.
Choujn X Chapter 2 Release Date
The problem with Choujin X is that it has a very peculiar release schedule, unlike any Jump series so far.
The new chapters will come out erratically, depending on Ishida’s schedule, which means that he can take his time writing the story he wants to write. On Twitter, Ishida wrote, “I want to try to do all the funds and finish myself this time, so I’ll update them when I can.”
Therefore, Choujin X is not being serialized in Young Jump like all of Ishida’s other works, but in Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump online manga service.
We expect the series to launch on a monthly basis, so Choujin 2 Chapter 2 is scheduled to premiere in the second week of June 2021. Also, being an online exclusive, the series will not experience any raw scan leaks.
Where to read Choujin X online?
You can read the manga for free on VIZ’s official website and Shueisha’s Mangaplus service. Also, you can download Viz’s ShonenJump app or Mangaplus app on your smartphones. Both apps are available on the Play Store and the Apple App Store. In addition, Mangaplus offers its chapters in Spanish / Spanish.
The website offers the first and last three chapters for free, with the rest available without a subscription to Shonen Jump, which costs around $ 2 per month.
About the series
Azuma Higashi is quite a popular boy. Although he’s a bit short, he has good fighting skills, a keen sense of justice, and his grades are top-of-the-line. He is the complete opposite of Tokio Kurohara, his friend who does not listen in class and is content to be a spectator while Azuma fights. However, the bond between these two childhood friends is strong, whatever their differences.
They live in Yamato prefecture, an incredibly ordinary district with some areas destroyed by the Choujin. The Choujin are humans endowed with dangerous supernatural powers, often at the origin of the surrounding destruction. When they return home, Tokio and Azuma meet a Choujin who threatens to kill them. Having no chance to escape, Tokio and Azuma make a crucial decision: to become Choujin.
With these new powers acquired, Tokyo can no longer be the spectator it was before, now trapped in a world where combat is inevitable.
